Medical Clinic

The Sutherland Medical Clinic is located in the former Sutherland Hospital building, 333 Maple, and is served by Dr. Dan Nuygen three days a week. For more information, contact (308) 386-2461.

Dentists

Dr. Brian Vineyard, DDS, P.C. operates the dental clinic six days a week, also located in the former Sutherland Hospital building, 333 Maple. Dr. Larry Piper joins him part time during the week.  For more information, contact (308) 386-2236.

Nursing Home

The Five Star Quality Care Center, 333 Maple, licensed by the state of Nebraska as an intermediate care facility, was built in 1970 with a capacity for 62. Services include regular nursing care, dietary care, and laundry. A recreation room is provided.  For more information, contact (308) 386-4393.

Rescue Squad

The Sutherland Volunteer Fire Department has 20 Emergency Medical Technicians who are certified to operate the department's two ambulances and have a search and rescue dive team.

Hospital

The Great Plains Regional Medical Center (GPRMC), a 130-bed, full-service acute care medical facility in North Platte, 20 miles east of Sutherland, provides major health care services to the 100,000 people living in Nebraska's west-central region. GPRMC meets the standards of the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Medical/surgical services, an intensive care unit, emergency/trauma, maternity, pediatric, and psychiatric services are among the hospital's featured medical programs. Additionally, the hospital offers extensive health services including renal dialysis, Level II neonatal nursery, home and community health services (including hospice), and a radiation therapy unit which utilizes the latest in linear accelerator and diagnostic simulation technology.

The Ogallala Community Hospital, 30 miles west of Sutherland, is a 49-bed capacity hospital.
