Business Community

Sutherland has had a long history of successful businesses and civic organizations that have propelled the community into the late 20th century. The community has the commitment, sustainability and fervor to move Sutherland into the 21st century. With the aid of a new Comprehensive Plan, Redevelopment Plan, and the guidance of Nebraska Development Law, the village of Sutherland will welcome new opportunities. New businesses can be added to the existing base through the encouragement of location and investment incentives. All citizens of Sutherland should benefit from this change through increased employment opportunities. We believe that the future of Sutherland is in our hands, and that the future looks bright.

The village of Sutherland intends to retain and attract good paying, quality jobs and services for its citizens and will encourage this through entrepreneurial efforts. The business community will identify and capitalize on new and existing business opportunities, support ideas that help existing businesses and recruit new businesses, and seek out new funding for capital improvements in the commercial and industrial zones.
